Reimagining Ryder Street at Bradford Street

Corners with lots of people walking and biking should be clear of visual obstructions so everyone can see what’s going on around them. Parked cars often block these sightlines and make people waiting to cross the street invisible to drivers.

In this visualization, a parking space blocking the sightline is removed, a painted curb extension defines the space to shorten the crosswalk, a bike lane is striped, and a bike rack installed to keep the corner clear of any stray parked cars. (Google Map)

These improvements could be made today with no construction – just paint and a bike rack.
