Roll in the new year!

We're back in 2024 for our 9th annual ride! Join fellow revelers on New Year's Eve for this free, fun ride along Commercial Street! This is an official First Light Provincetown event.

The Light Bright Bike Ride starts at 4:30 PM on December 31 right in front of the Public Library at 356 Commercial Street. The ride takes about 15 minutes plus 15 minutes for the awards ceremony.

Stop by the library starting before the ride if you need help with decorations. We’ll have some lights, garlands, and other swag to help you bling out your bike.

This year’s ride is hosted by Bike Provincetown and the Provincetown Public Library with promotional support from the Provincetown Business Guild, which produces the First Light Provincetown event.

Where we meet

The ride starts promptly at 4:30 PM right in front of the Provincetown Library at 356 Commercial Street (cross street: Center St.). We’ll line up our bikes on the street in the yellow-striped “no parking” zone.

We ride along Commercial Street heading west to the Boatslip Resort parking lot (cross street: Atlantic Ave.) where we’ll present prizes for the best bike decorating!

Join us right before the ride for bike decorating, We’ll have extra lights and random holiday decorations for you to use on your bike!

This is a 1-mile (or so), slow ride along Commercial Street. We start at the Public Library at 356 Commercial Street (cross street: Center St.) and end at the Boatslip at 161 Commercial Street (cross street: Atlantic Ave.). Actual ride route may vary depending on weather conditions or traffic.
